Pan Peninsula Project

The customer, a property development company operating in Londons Docklands, wanted a silent, unobtrusive propulsion system for a viewing vessel specifically designed to show potential customers high-rise residential properties in and around the Canary Wharf region of London.

The primary drive for the boat was selected as being a podded propulsor or an Aziprop device. This was incorporated into the boat design at an early stage and provides steering via the headstock. The rated power of the Aziprop motor is 35kW at 1000rpm. There are two generators installed: the main generator is rated at 53kW and the standby / domestic generator is rated at 12kW.

No, the boat isn't 'in for a service,' - this picture was taken on sea trials the plastic covers are to protect the leather seats from any moisture damage whilst in testing mode - the A/C might not be on.
